Life at Pihanga Health

Life at Pihanga during COVID 19 Level 1

We are now back to offering our full range of services however our preferred type of consultation is still by phone where this is appropriate.  If during a phone consultation the doctor believes that they need to see you in order to assess you properly, they will make a face to face appointment for you.  The cost of a phone consultation is $18 (free for under 18yrs or $35 for a casual patient) and if you need to be seen, this is included in the cost.

There are a limited number of face to face appointments available that you can book directly if you prefer.  These consultations are $18 (free for under 18yrs or $35 for a casual patient)

We continue to send all prescriptions directly to the pharmacy of your choice at no extra charge.  The pharmacy is very busy so please allow two working days before collecting your medications unless told to collect them that day by your doctor.  Feel free to call the pharmacy on 07 386 8565 to check if your prescription is ready before you head in to collect it.

If you need to pay a bill you can do this by internet banking or by coming into the surgery to pay by eftpos or cash.

It is a Ministry of Health requirement that we continue to screen you for potential COVID symptoms at the door before allowing you in to the practice.  If you do have potential COVID symptoms please be honest with us.  We will still treat you, we will just do it in a way which is safer for you, other patients and our team.  Thank you for your cooperation

Though we don’t have to keep to social distancing, we are still trying to keep the numbers of people in the waiting room as low as possible.  Waiting rooms are full of germs so this is just another way to keep everyone safe.  If we are very busy we may ask you to wait in your car for a short period until there is a bit more space.

We continue to undertake intense cleaning protocols in the waiting room, consultation and treatment rooms.  You are encouraged to use the hand sanitizer on offer at the door.

We continue to have contact tracing measures in place for you to use.  This includes our appointment book, a QR code for the NZ COVID Tracer app and a sign in book for those who do not have an appointment.

As always please follow the official advice on the COVID 19 website
